If Watson here was being played by a mildly attractive probably-white actor, you would be eating up the ‘one tragic mistake leads brilliant but haunted ex-surgeon on an angsty struggle for redemption/the truth about That Fateful Day’ backstory with a spoon. P.S. it’s pretty obviously a plot hook that will become relevant as the story unfolds. Take your sexist double-standard and shove it.
